Exclusive to the region, the Chevrolet Urban Challenge brought over 9000 people together for four days of cars, competition and entertainment. This time around, the action took place in Abu Dhabi April 28-29, May 1-2, 2009.
The participants definitely stepped up to the competition, by creating their own teams, and showing off their skills. Team ‘Palestinians’ were crowned Urban Challenge Abu Dhabi 2009 Champions and celebrated with exciting prizes.
The Exclusive Urban Car Show on May 1st provided the chance to show off the interior or exterior modifications that made the cars worthy of our judges’ attention.
But it was much more than just a competition….The all new 2010 Camaro and Cruze, the first in the region, were on display in Abu Dhabi in addition to displays and test drives of a variety of Chevrolets as well as the winners of the Aveo5 Totally Street competition. The Corvette UAE Club also displayed a range of their pride and joy ‘vettes.
We witnessed great performances on and off the courts with BMX bikers, inline skating and break dancing with the Aveo Performers in the skate park. There was graffiti competitions, football freestylers, DJs, and some fantastic local young artists showcasing their talent, creating great music on stage.
